Job Summary

Account Managers plan, foster, organize, control, direct, and evaluate the activities of assigned client accounts within the company, under the direction of the VP Operations. They establish project plans according to clients’ objectives and guide them through the implementation of the proposed strategies. Account Managers arrange for the purchase and sale of products and services and monitor the portfolio to ensure its quality, relationship longevity, and profitability. Account Managers also help to expand business and attract new clients. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.  
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.  
  • Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.  
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.  
  • Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.  
  • Establish and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and vendors, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.  
  • Report project outcomes and risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.  
  • Ensure applicable industry, client, and Apex standards and procedures are employed by the project team to maintain high-quality management.  
  • Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure that they receive exceptional service, providing recommendations for services to grow the sales relationship.  
  • Develop and maintain technical product and service knowledge to explain features to clients, capabilities, offerings and answer questions about goods or services.  
  • Maintain accurate records of all contacts, meetings, contracts, and agreements.  
  • Resolve complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.  
  • Identify and solicit potential customers by setting appointments, making effective qualifying sales calls, and managing sales cycle to close new business in all service categories.  
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.  
  • Prepare client proposals, estimates, quotes, and other required documentation to illustrate the benefits of services.  
  • Deliver executive-level sales presentations and estimates to clients, providing input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs.   
  • Assess market conditions and competitors' activities and develop an awareness of emerging markets and trends and recommend changes in products, service, and policy.  
  • Keep executive management informed by participating in regular sales planning meetings.  
  • Manage annual revenue between $3-5 million, ensuring alignment with business goals and client expectations.  
  • Maintain average utilization of the project execution team above 80%, supporting efficient resource deployment and project delivery.  


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related field). A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) is highly desirable.  
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in industrial automation engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or lead role. Proven track record of successful project management.  
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial automation systems, control systems, PLCs, SCADA systems, and related technologies. Proficiency in engineering design and analysis tools.  
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex engineering projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.  
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.  
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with clients, understand their needs, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
