JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Systems Integrator is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of complex integrated solutions. This position plays a leadership role in aligning software, hardware, and network components to create unified systems that optimize processes to meet client and project requirements. This role requires in-depth technical expertise, project leadership, and a strong ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve successful integration outcomes.
Specific Responsibilities
- Strong understanding of technical languages, electrical, instrumentation and network Infrastructure Systems.
- Create control logic based on Engineering Document Deliverables such as P&IDs, Control Narratives, Shutdown Keys, and Critical Settings Document.
- Develop logic following the IEC 61131-3 standard which covers the following languages:
- Ladder Diagram
- Function Block Diagram
- Structured Text
- Sequential Function Chart
- Instruction List
- Follow ISA Standards.
- Demonstrate understanding of HMI design best practices including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Create a graphical display system, based on Engineering Document Deliverables such as P&IDs and Control Narratives following company and ISA Standards.
- Address and tag the HMI System to communicate with the control system controller(s).
- Develop the control system alarm and events database.
- Develop process and diagnostic reports as required.
- Implement group and user security as required.
- Perform system testing and validation to ensure functionality, compatibility, and performance across integrated systems.
- Complete testing to ensure that the HMI functions correctly, responds appropriately to user inputs, and performs reliably in different scenarios.
- Participate in multiple phases of testing including internal verification test (IVT), client acceptance test (CAT), and site acceptance testing (SAT).
- Implement quality control measures such as troubleshooting and resolving integration issues by analyzing system logs, debugging software, and identifying root causes to meet project requirements.
- Participate in the creation of information, guides, and documentation to help users.
- Redline Engineering Document Deliverables such as P&IDs, Control Narratives, Shutdown Keys, and Critical Settings Document.
- Provide technical support to team members and complete tasks assigned by senior project team members as required.
- Assist with the design and review of Electrical, Instrumentation and Network Infrastructure drawing packages.
- Based on the Project Charter, Senior Systems Integrators may be assigned additional Project Lead responsibilities by Account/Project Managers.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and other stakeholders to establish project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Maintain regular collaboration with the project team to provide technical assistance on ongoing tasks.
- Provide regular updates on project progress and escalate issues as needed.
- Perform as the key contact on client projects ensuring that all project deliverables are met through ongoing follow up and task assignment.
- Develop project plans, defining key milestones and technical specifications to ensure successful project execution.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to systems integration.
- Implement process improvements and recommend innovative solutions to optimize integration processes or initiate new projects.
- Scope out new projects based on findings and recommendations.
- Participate in Front-End Engineering Design Studies (FEED).
- Lead project presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members and collaborate with development teams to ensure alignment with best practices and integration standards.
- Provide coaching in an open and empowering environment for team members to get the needed support and direction on assigned tasks.
- Develop, review, and implement clear and simplified training materials for team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A diploma or degree in Engineering, Computer Science/Technology, Instrumentation, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of recent experience in a similar role or in a related field. A combination of education and experience is required.
- Proficiency in systems architecture, software development methodologies and networking protocols
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, provide guidance, and facilitate effective collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders, present technical concepts, and document integration processes.
- Experience in project planning, execution, and risk management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
