Job Summary:   

The Shop Hand (Panel Wireman) role involves assisting with general shop duties and performing electrical wiring of control panels and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment and a strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge, and experience in operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. 

Specific Responsibilities: 

• Asssist with material handling, inventory organization, and shop cleanliness 
• Operate basic hand and power tools to support fabrication and assembly 
• Perform physical duties as required 
• Load/unload deliveries and prepare components for production 
• Support technicians and tradespeople with daily tasks and project preparation 
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment 
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings 
• Assemble and wire industrial control panels  
• Perform point-to-point wiring, crimping, and soldering as required 
• Conduct basic continuity and functionality tests on completed panels 
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations 
• Maintain documentation of services performed 
• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents, and inspect for damage 
• Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation 
• Track inventory movement and update records accurately 
• Coordinate with vendors, couriers, and internal departments as needed 
• Organizing and sorting inventory  
• Safely operate a forklift to move materials, load/unload trucks, and organize stock 
• Perform daily equipment checks and report any maintenance issues 
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain certification (if applicable) 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical or mechanical fields preferred 
• 1–2 years of experience in a shop, warehouse, or manufacturing environment 
• Familiarity with electrical components and wiring techniques 
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain (training may be provided) 
• Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions 
• Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs 
• Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
